Hardware upgrade of a laptop

Usually you can, the only way to really tell would be to open it up, I cant seem to find a repair guide that will let me see the inside of it though. You’d need to get the current model number. It dosent look like you can though because it has an integrated Svideo port, usually laptops with that have the video built into the motherboard. Others there’s just a slot it pushes into, usually directly under the middle of the keyboard.

Most laptops have integrated video cards meaning it’s a chip on the motherboard.

You can replace the motherboard with another one that has a faster video card chip on it. But it would be cheaper to buy a new laptop and the cost would be probably less considering you need to have a repair tech install the board. And for laptops it’s not cheap to replace the motherboard.

The other option is to buy a video card chip and have a repair tech change it for you. Then again you will likely be able to buy a new laptop and it will still be cheaper going that way. Laptops are costly when it comes to upgrades and repairs, often it’s better to get a new one.

Ram modules are about the only components that can be upgraded without emptying your wallet and then again…
